PluggedIN Upgrades Social Media Tool

September 9 2009

PluggedIN, which specializes in building online communities for market research and consumer insights, has updated its social networking platform to enable online qual researchers to track what their target audiences are sharing across the social media landscape.

Ben WerzingerThe V1.6 update includes social media integration with external sites and applications, as well as a new 'Twitter-style' messaging system to help researchers track the day-to-day experiences of members.

PluggedIN says the latest enhancements have been designed to refine the user experience for participants and moderators, while providing participants with new ways to share their online lives.

'Market researchers must find ways to harness feedback across social media, to gain a true understanding of what an audience is like, beyond what they tell you through structured research activities,' comments Partner and Senior Consultant Ben Werzinger. 'This new release will help qual market researchers develop that deeper understanding, while creating new opportunities for in-depth community conversations around topics relevant to the audience.'

Earlier this year, Rochester, NY-based PluggedIN launched a proprietary platform for use by MR and consulting firms looking to launch private online communities for their clients.
