Western Wats Rolls Out New Sampling Method

August 18 2010

US data collection firm Western Wats has rolled out a new sampling methodology combining its managed panel with samples from mobile phone users, phone to web recruits, social media communities and 'River' respondents.

Bob FawsonWestern Wats maintains online research panels across North America and Europe, and has a network of telephone interviewing centers in the United States and the Philippines.

The new {n}fusion methodology has been developed to provide researchers with respondents who are traditionally unavailable in managed panels. The method focuses on improving respondent goodwill and reducing 'qualification strain', using pre-qualifying demographic questions and 'matching willing respondents with qualified survey opportunities', in the words of VP of Online Services Bob Fawson.

Fawson says the solution was created 'after examining various approaches to increase access to low incidence populations, offline and non-panel populations.'

Last month, the firm launched a research solution which combines its mobile survey platform with its panel of mobile users.
