US video analytics specialist Visible Measures has promoted Seraj Bharwani to the role of Chief Analytics Officer, overseeing the mining of the firm's patented platform and 'Viral Reach Database' of online video advertising.The firm recently launched a network which will enable advertisers to buy user-initiated views aired in social media videos.
Bharwani joined the firm in 2007 as SVP, Strategy & Analytics. He previously served as SVP and Group Director at Digitas for more than 14 years, where he led the Strategic Alliances and Analytics group, working for major consumer brands across a wide range of industries. Prior to this, he was Director of Alliances at MIT Media Lab.
In his new role, Bharwani is tasked with educating the market on industry trends and best practices, while promoting the opportunity represented by social video advertising.
'Every paradigm shift in advertising history has had a champion, and Seraj is undoubtedly the champion for social video advertising,' states founder and CEO Brian Shin. 'As Chief Analytics Officer, he will be able to bring even more insights to the industry and help advertisers understand the benefits of driving consumer choice and Earned Media in online video.'
Separately, Visible Measures has hired Lynne Lipinsky as Vice President of Finance. She was previously VP of Finance at ScanScout.
