Firminger to Lead European Activity of Flurry

US-based mobile app analytics provider Flurry has launched in Europe with the appointment of former Amazon/Yahoo! exec Richard Firminger as European MD.

From offices in San Francisco and New York, Flurry tracks more than four billion anonymous, aggregated, end-user application sessions every day. Its Flurry Analytics tool helps developers design apps that increase retention, while its AppCircle solution offers an analytics-powered cross-selling network which monetizes apps for publishers.

At the end of last year, the firm closed a $15m Series C round of financing, which it is using to expand these two services across the top mobile application platforms.

Firminger joins with a 20 year+ background in media sales and publisher management experience. Most recently, he led the digital media sales team for Amazon in Europe, prior to which he was Head of Search Marketing Sales for Yahoo! Northern Europe. Earlier in his career, he served as European MD for Nokia media business Enpocket, UK Deputy MD for media firm AdLink, and UK Commercial Director for DoubleClick.

Firminger will be based in London, where he will focus on growing Flurry's analytics base and the reach of Flurry AppCircle.

Separately, the firm has also announced the launch of a report addressing the status of the mobile app market in Europe.
