Transatlantic First for Rentrak AMI Division

US-based multi-screen specialist Rentrak has signed its first European client for video-on-demand measurement, Spanish digital television operator Digital+. The firm's burgeoning Advanced Media and Information (AMI) division signed the data tracking agreement last week.

The service, OnDemand Essentials, is a multi-screen measurement system that analyzes on-demand content performance and provides a database currency across multiple delivery channels including TV, Internet and mobile platforms. Portland, OR-based Rentrak says the international expansion of its AMI services will complement its existing international box office measurement business.

Digital+ is the audiovisual holding company of Spanish and Portuguese-language media group PRISA, the publisher of El Pais. Based in Madrid and wirth a presence in 22 countries, the Group was the first company to introduce interactive systems, including digital television and VOD in the country.
