Manthan Raises $15m to Extend Retail Analytics

Bangalore-based retail analytics provider Manthan Systems has raised $15m in Series C funding, which it plans to invest in new products and in company acquisitions.

The firm produces analytic solutions for global retail and CPG organizations, and its ARC Retail Business Intelligence suite comprises analysis tools covering merchandising, customer data and supplier collaboration. In 2010, it opened a new office in Melbourne, to support demand for its ARC products in Australia and New Zealand. In addition, it now has operations in the US, UK, Germany and the Philippines.

CEO and founder Atul Jalan comments: 'Our deep focus on retail analytics, business intelligence and the customer is what has helped us create some of the most innovative products in the BI and analytics space. In addition, we have always been heedful of the fact that the sophisticated analytics we create need to be easy to adopt, deploy and use.'

The new round of funding has been led by US-based Norwest Venture Partners (NVP), which has subsidiaries in Mumbai, India and Bengaluru, Israel.
