uSamp Names CTO

In the US, online sampling and technology company uSamp has appointed former Ticketmaster SVP Carl Trudel as Chief Technology Officer, to oversee existing platforms and help it navigate developments in areas such as virtualization, the cloud, big data and data management.

Carl TrudelThe announcement comes just two weeks after the company appointed IAG Research co-founder Alan Gould as its new CEO.

Los Angeles-based uSamp's mobile technology and SaaS platform currently provides companies with access to its twelve million-strong global panel of survey respondents. Last month, the firm opened an office in Paris, adding to European offices in London and Frankfurt, and it also has a further five offices across the US and a base in New Delhi, India.

Trudel (pictured) joins with more than eighteen years' experience leading the development of SaaS and consumer solutions. Most recently, he worked as CTO of social media commerce platform BeachMint. Prior to this, he served as SVP of Software Engineering at Ticketmaster, where he managed a variety of technology teams, and led the definition and architecture of the next-generation SOA platform. Earlier, he led the engineering teams at Taleo before it was sold to Oracle.

In addition to overseeing uSamp's technology for gathering consumer intelligence across multiple platforms, Trudel will help develop its strategy in other areas it describes as 'paramount' to its continued growth.
