March 11 2014

Digital audience measurement specialist Effective Measure has announced that CEO Richard Webb is to step down from its executive team, while remaining an 'active stakeholder' in the company. Co-founder James Robertson will meanwhile take up the new role of Chief Revenue Officer.

Richard Webb and James RobertsonWebb has served in his current position since 2008, prior to which he founded media venture capital and consulting firm Red Ocean, and led technology distributor Renaissance and creative industry shop YOOBEE. Earlier, he worked at Nielsen as President - Asia Pacific Latin America; was CEO of Australian Internet research specialist Red Sheriff (prior to its sale to Nielsen in 2004); and was MD - Australasia at fragrances specialist Sensient. He also worked for soft drink manufacturer Cott Beverages, PepsiCo, and brewer Anheuser-Busch.

The firm says that under Webb's leadership, Effective Measure's platform has expanded into new markets and media sectors, and developed several new products. Chairman Hugh Browne, who will serve as interim CEO, thanked Webb for his 'guidance, leadership and steadfast commitment to the company and its vision'.

As part of a move which the firm says supports a 'new phase of development' for the company, Robertson will move back to Effective Measure's HQ in Melbourne, Australia from his current position in Singapore. Before co-founding the firm, he worked for Visual Sciences, Nielsen//NetRatings and Red Sherriff.

Browne adds: 'The Effective Measure Board is proud to appoint James in this pivotal new role. He brings many gifts to this leadership position including a global strategic perspective, strong roots in measurement technology and a highly engaged corporate development background.'
