AdRoll Hires Google Man for New London Office

Advertising retargeting firm AdRoll has opened an office in London, where it has appointed former Google exec Michael Bertaut as Managing Director of EMEA Strategic Sales.

Michael BertautSan Francisco-based AdRoll helps its clients create personalized ad campaigns based on their own web site data. Last year, the firm acquired custom analytics start up Bitdeli, and earlier this year it bought e-mail user retention service userfox and closed a $70m funding round.

Bertaut (pictured) joins after serving as Google's Country Manager for Italy and as the firm's Head of New Business Sales in Latin America. In his new role, he is responsible for building a London-based sales division, focusing on bringing AdRoll's cross-device/platform digital ad solutions to brands and agencies across EMEA.

During the next year, AdRoll says it plans to grow from 100 employees to 250 employees across London and Dublin. CEO Aaron Bell comments: 'Following our launch in Dublin last year, we've already seen strong demand and results from European advertisers and we are on a mission to drive this momentum even further. Michael's extensive experience at Google and deep knowledge of Europe will be invaluable as we look to strengthen our leadership in the industry and scale a high-performing team.'
