New Look Aberdeen Group Scales Up B2B Data Offer

Technology industry B2B data and insights provider Aberdeen Group has announced major enhancements to its CI Technology Data Set, following the company's change of ownership in April.

The current company was formed by merging the pre-existing Aberdeen Group with Harte Hanks Market Intelligence. Both were subsidiaries of direct marketing and targeting corporation Harte Hanks until their spring sale to private equity firm Halyard Capital, which said its new acquisitions would 'take advantage of the growing technology market opportunity around big data and content marketing'.

The combined firm offers reports based on primary research and benchmarking data from thousands of tracked companies, and tech industry targeting using the CI Technology Data Set as well as other proprietary and public data. Among the recent enhancements are the addition of 300 technology-focused digital interest classifiers to CI data, allowing for the interrogation of companies and contacts based on their digital and online profiles and the tracking of companies based on their 'digital body language' across most technology categories.

The Group says CI now tracks over $2 billion in technology focused IT spend and buying alerts annually, at both the company and individual level; has more than doubled the number of technologies tracked to a total of 8,878, making it 'the most accurate source of technology install and spend data in the world'; and has massively increased the number of in-depth, 'elite technology profiles' and its tracking of purchasing initiatives via real-time monitoring solution CI Pipeline.
