ShopperTrak Launches Advanced Data Platform

January 19 2016

US-based consumer behavior and location-based analytics specialist ShopperTrak has introduced a new Advanced Analytics platform, integrating multiple data sets to provide additional insights for retailers and mall owners.

Chetan GhaiShopperTrak offers a footfall counting and in-store behavior measurement solution, backed by analytics. The service has been developed to help clients calculate sales opportunities and conversion rates; compare store performance locally, regionally or nationally; determine marketing campaign effectiveness; and improve labour scheduling. Last month, the firm was bought by fire protection and security firm Tyco, which had previously acquired UK-based traffic analytics specialist FootFall last summer.

The new Advanced Analytics solution aggregates data from internal sources including marketing campaigns and eCommerce; as well as external sources such as census, weather and macroeconomic data, to help retailers analyze all relevant information and understand what is happening in their category, market and store. Data visualization and mapping help with the identification of trends, while retailers can integrate their individual data, including traffic gathered from ShopperTrak or third-party devices, in real-time; and view benchmarking scores across average traffic, sales, and conversion rates among a group of similar stores.

Chief Product Officer Chetan Ghai (pictured) comments: 'Our new platform allows retail customers to effortlessly view and digest a variety of meaningful data sets, such as weather, shopper visits and conversion rates, while our integration and predictive capabilities offer critical context. Thus, the platform is instrumental in managing store and associate performance, setting goals and evaluating marketing effectiveness'.
