Piano Gets $88m for Analytics / Personalization Platform

In the US, global analytics, personalization and subscription platform Piano has raised $88m in a new round of funding, which it will use to expand its platform, enhance product capabilities and scale its global footprint.

Trevor KaufmanPiano, which also has European headquarters in Amsterdam, offers a platform which is used to help media companies target and analyze dedicated audiences. This includes a subscription commerce engine (Piano VX), a customer experience toolkit (Piano Composer), and a user management system (Piano ID) that work together for media businesses across digital platforms.

New funding has been led by existing investors Updata Partners with participation from Rittenhouse Ventures and LinkedIn, and adding to the $22m Series B round in 2019. Since this previous investment round, Piano has expanded into the Asia-Pacific region, integrated its customer journey and data management capabilities, and acquired France-based analytics platform AT Internet.
