Aberdeen Invests in PLM Research Practice

June 7 2006

US-based value chain specialist Aberdeen Group has hired Chad Jackson as a Research Director in its Product Innovation and Engineering practice. The firm aims to expand its coverage of the global product lifecycle management (PLM) marketplace.

Jackson has eleven years of experience in MCAD and PLM at PTC, where he worked in product development and sales roles. His expertise combines technology use in product development, analytic skills, and the business application of technology. He is already at work in his new role on a 'mechatronic system design benchmark report' examining the co-ordination of mechanical, electrical, and software design efforts for complex product development.

The Product Innovation and Engineering Research practice was formed in May 2005 with the acquisition of independent research and consulting company Tech-Clarity. Its leader, VP Jim Brown says its growth reflects the continued expansion of the PLM market, as 'manufacturers of all sizes seek to educate themselves on the value of improving product development processes and technology'.

The Group is online at www.aberdeen.com .
