Synovate Expands Again in China

June 26 2006

Synovate has announced a sixth office for its China business, this one in Hangzhou, in the process taking over a local supplier, Chun Qiu, whose staff will now work for Synovate.

Darryl Andrew, Managing Director of Synovate China, says the move recognises the consistent quality of Chun Qiu's output, and gives clients a direct link into one of the fastest growing second tier cities in China. 'Hangzhou is a key growth hub beyond the first tier locations... which are becoming closer and closer to saturation in some categories. The more affluent second tier cities will become increasingly important for categories targeting the 'middle class' as levels of affluence grow in these cities.'

Synovate has grown rapidly in the region with the help of heavy investment in people and technology, the latter including PDAs and online panels. Its five existing offices there are in Shanghai, Beijing, Wuhan, Guangzhou and Hong Kong. The company is online at www.synovate.com .
