TNS MI Makes German Buy

TNS Media Intelligence has acquired media monitoring and evaluation firm PressWatch GmbH, based in Hamburg, Germany.

PressWatch was founded in 1999, is focused on large German and global customers and uses technology described as 'cutting edge' to scan over 1,000 print publications and 7,000 online media sites. It covers press reviews, media analysis, issue alerts and other sources in twenty-five languages. Other offices are in Berlin, Cologne and Stuttgart.

Jean-Michel Portail, MD of TNS Media Intelligence Europe, says the buy will strengthen the firm's worldwide network and 'reinforce its strong position in Western Europe... This international reach enhances our ability to deliver a daily and pro-active multi-media monitoring service to our global accounts.' TNS MI offers 24-hour coverage of print, radio, TV, Internet, social media, cinema and outdoors worldwide, with services including ad spend monitoring, news monitoring and sports sponsorship evaluation.
