MRP Rebrands CATI Unit / Opens New Office

July 22 2008

Edinburgh-based full-service agency Market Research Partners (MRP) has re-named its Northern Ireland-based CATI unit MRP Voice, and opened a new research office in Bangor, NI under the same banner.

The 140-seat CATI call centre is operated as a joint venture between MRP and direct communications firm Anderson Manning Associates (AMA).

In addition, MRP has a team of around 60 face-to-face interviewers in Northern Ireland, who use PDA handheld computers to conduct government and social research fieldwork projects on behalf of other MR agencies.

MRP Research Director Louise Walker told DRNO that while her firm already has a base at the CATI unit for its telephone project meetings, it has now come to an arrangement to use space in one of AMA's premises as a separate base for staff working on other projects.

Edinburgh Director and General Manager Yvonne Somers heads up the new office. While she and other members of the Edinburgh team are currently flying back and forth to Northern Ireland to oversee staff briefings and training, Somers is currently recruiting someone to work alongside the Regional Manager and two Supervisors, to take on day-to-day responsibility for the office.

MRP was formed in 2005 and is part of the Amarach Group, one of the largest independent research groups in the Republic of Ireland.

In April, MRP launched its monthly Qualbus which allows clients to buy 30-minute sections on any of the firm's four different monthly focus groups.
