Mocarsky Returns to Arbitron

July 15 2009

Arbitron's former SVP/Press & Investor Relations Thom Mocarsky is returning to the firm in the newly created position of VP/Investor Relations.

Mocarsky left Arbitron last month after 27 years with the company. During his time with the ratings giant, he played a major role in the introduction and marketing of the PPM (Portable People Meter), and was promoted to his previous position in 2006.

Prior to joining, he worked as Manager of Communications at CBS Television Stations Marketing after graduating with a BS degree in Broadcast & Film from Boston University.

In his new role, Mocarsky reports to CFO Sean Creamer who noted in a staff memo: 'With requests for more information about the PPM system from the House Judiciary Committee and other places, Arbitron is going to need to place even more focus and resource there in the coming months.' He added that Mocarsky had been asked to return to 'provide more bandwidth to our legislative and marketing initiatives.'

Mocarsky joins Deirdre Blackwood who came to Arbitron in June as SVP/Corporate Communications, reporting to Chief Marketing Officer Alton Adams.
