Flurry Raises $15m to Expand Analytics Services

December 8 2010

In the US, mobile app analytics provider Flurry has closed a $15m Series C round of financing, which it will use to expand its Flurry Analytics and AppCircle services across the top mobile application platforms, including iOS and Android.

Sonja Hoel Perkins and Simon KhalafFrom its offices in San Francisco and New York, Flurry tracks more than five billion anonymous, aggregated, end-user application sessions each month. Its Flurry Analytics tool helps developers design apps that increase retention, while its AppCircle solution offers an analytics-powered cross-selling network which monetizes apps for publishers.

The firm's latest funding has been led by Menlo Ventures with participation from existing investors, including Draper Fisher Jurvetson, InterWest, First Round Capital and Union Square Ventures. This follows an earlier $7m round of financing, which it raised to 'aggressively' build out new services.

The new funds will also be used to accelerate the development of new services designed to change the way advertisers engage with consumers through mobile apps, and to expand sales and marketing.

As part of the deal, Sonja Hoel Perkins, Menlo Ventures MD, will join Flurry's Board of Directors.

'We are thrilled to have Menlo Ventures lead this round of financing, and to have Sonja Hoel Perkins join our Board of Directors,' states Flurry President and CEO, Simon Khalaf. 'This builds on the strength of our existing investors, and our goal of powering the businesses of tens of thousands of application developers serving hundreds of millions of consumers in the explosively growing mobile application market.'
